General guidelines to growing and maintaining healthy Proteaceae

Iron (Fe) Deficiency

A deficiency in the soil is rare but iron can be unavailable for absorption if soil pH is not between about
5 and 6.5. A common problem is high soil alkalinity (the pH is above 6.5).The soil has too much clay,
compacted or overly wet. Too much phosphorus in the soil can also cause iron deficiency.
